Autism-aware Santas

22 Dec

I love that this exists. I recently reported about  lights up, sound down movies that wouldn’t provide a total sensory overload for those with autism, but this is the first I’ve heard of autism-sensitive Santas.

To put it perfectly:

“Just because a family has a child with special needs doesn’t mean they don’t want all the same memories that everyone else does. We all want those same holiday joyful moments; it just has to be approached differently.”

It also helps if family and friends understand not to push people with pressuring comments such as, “come on, everyone will be at the party. you will have such a good time”.

I'd love to hear what you think!
