I read an insane number of blogs. Often, I love one so much, I want to share it with everyone.
So consider this the trial run of a new occasional feature on Snap, Crackle, Pop. Read It will feature a short list of things I’ve read and feel the need to share.
being afraid of yourself and why that’s probably not a good idea — This is a perfect little MO for bloggers and a great story about how My Girl Thursday got into the blogging world. “So, when I first started blogging I was terrified of upsetting people. In real life I can be crass; nothing makes me laugh more than a good poop joke. “
One of Life’s Great Mysteries — Buried with Children remains one of my top two favorite Mom blogs. I’m not a mom — I have no plans to be — and I find Jen’s tone and writing style oh-so relateable. And friggin’ hilarious. This post is a perfect illustration of that. “’But mommy, there is something in my butt!’ she said in her most forceful, grown up voice.”
50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind — I found myself on this 2009 blog post at Marc and Angel Hack Life from another blog I read. And I LOVE it. One of the things I think I struggle with most as a blogger is how to connect at a personal level. Yes, I blogs first and foremost for Etsy. But I find that I tend to get the most comments — which are like crack, or Lay’s Potato Chips, because you can’t have just one — on the personal stuff.
So I’m toying with making these questions another occasional feature. If I do this, I’d love to make it a bloggy project. If you are remotely interested in doing this project with me, leave me a comment with a way to get in touch with you. On days when I blog a Project: 50 Questions, I’ll be sure to link up with your 50 Questions, too. “Would you rather be a worried genius or a joyful simpleton?”
So there we have it, folks. My trial Read It. What do we think? Shall I continue? And would anyone like to embark on Project: 50 Questions with me?
