Gift guide No. 2: Christmas gifts for charity

30 Nov

For my second Etsy holiday gift guide of the season (you can see my first, shopping on a budget, here), I’m compiling a group of Etsy goodies that benefit charity.

For my birthday this year, a very close friend of mine didn’t know what to get me, and he ended up donating money to autism, which made my day. So these kinds of  gifts can bring smiles to multiple faces.

Look how sweet! Click on the image to visit this adorable bunny.

This fabulously adorable little guy is by moonscreations and is only $10, and the entire price will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The bunny is made in a style called amigurumi, which is a Japanese art of stuffing teeny knit creatures. Usually, amigurumi have big heads.

This beautiful necklace raises money for Alzheimer's. Click on the image to visit it.

This amazing necklace is made with a variety of gorgeous glass beads. WhimsyBeading will split the full price of the necklace — $25 — between the Alzheimer’s Association and the Alzheimer’s Research Trust.

StephieMcDesigns will donate $15 of each $33 fight-like-a-girl necklace to W.I.N.G.S., which is a Kansas organization that helps women with breast cancer. How sweet is that amazing little boxing glove??

Puppy! Click on the image to see more.

This wonderfully sweet puppy is by eastwitching. The full $19 price will go to help a variety of organizations geared toward animals: The Heart and Soul Animal Sactuary, Santa Fe, New Mexico; and The Fox Project, Four Paws Animal Rescue and The Dogs Trust Bridgend, all in the UK.

Joey's Hot Dogs! Click on the image to see the different varieties in my shop.

For the final charity gift in the gift guide: Joey’s Hot Dogs! I debuted these in my shop back in April, which is Autism Awareness Month, to raise money for autism. The regular necklaces are $11, and the necklaces with an initial charm are $14, and $5 from every purchase goes to Autism Speaks.

What’s your favorite Etsy item that raises money for a charity? Share a link in the comments, or tell me about which item here is your favorite!
