Joey’s Auction 30: Decoupage bracelet set

11 Aug

Meet Kate, of Washington D.C. (Remember, if you’d like to make a donation for Joey’s Auction to Elim Christian Services but not make any bids, you can do so through PayPal — use e-mail address jaclyn1423@yahoo.com — or check. If you opt for a check, leave a comment so I can e-mail you my address.)

What: Four wooden bracelets decoupaged with black and white patterned scrapbooking paper and, in some cases, adorned with pearls and/or crystals. They’re of various sizes and patterns for mixing and matching. They’re also waterproofed, though I wouldn’t necessarily recommend swimming in them!

How long: I’ve always been a little arts-and-craftsy, but I’ve not yet found my ideal medium. These bracelets are one of many attempts at figuring out what I like best — and they may be it! I had a lot of fun making them.

Where: No selling — yet. Eventually I’d like to open at Etsy store — once I figure out what I’m doing! I’m online everywhere! My blog is Suburban Sweetheart, and I tweet.

Why: Jaclyn’s passion for raising awareness of autism in her brother’s name is inspiring and encouraging. Because I’m not yet ready for an Etsy page, this felt like a good way to craft for a cause — and to help a friend launch a great idea!

This auction will be open until 11.59 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13. Each day through Saturday, I will post two to three auctions. If you like the item up for grabs, place your bid in the comments, and be sure to leave your e-mail address so I can contact you should you win. Each item will be a separate post, and each post will indicate when that particular auction is over.
