Listen to me: ‘You Can Always Come Home’

23 Apr

I’ve once before gushed about my love of favorite Idol Jason Castro, and earlier this week, I purchased his album — $7.99 + his version of “Hallelujah” = SOLD!

It’s no surprise I enjoy the album. I tend to like pretty voices on pretty men with pretty guitars. Granted, the album certainly is not earth shattering, primarily because of the somewhat mediocre lyrics on many of the songs. However, one stood out, even over the other two tunes I knew I liked (“Hallelujah” and “Let’s Just Fall in Love Again“).

“You Can Always Come Home” is beautifully written and simple. It never sounds forced and even seems to have a bit of a country feel. However, his voice is emotional, and once Jason is joined by Serena Ryder, the pretty song becomes absolutely haunting.

Give it a listen.

I'd love to hear what you think!
